o Fixed vs. Growth (Explain differences)
Fixed Mindset: People believe their basic qualities, like their intelligence or talent, are simply fixed traits. They believe that talent alone creates success without effort. This is not true. This will not allow them to develop more on their intelligence or talent.
o Example: “I’m not a math person” then that belief acts as an easy excuse to avoid practicing math.
o The fixed mindset prevents you from failing in the short-run, but in the long-run it hinders your ability to learn, grow, and develop new skills
Growth Mindset: In a growth mindset students understand that their talents and abilities can be developed through effort, good teaching, and persistence. They believe everyone can get smarter if they work at it.
o Example: You keep your confidence by always pushing into the unfamiliar, to make sure you’re always learning.
